Patrick Reynolds, Professor Emeritus, will be this year's conductor. Jim McCutcheon, owner of McCutcheon Music, will be the featured soloist. Funds are raised by free-will donations and the sale of silent auction items at the concert. All of the money raised at this year's concert will be given to Bicycles for All.
Giving Strings began in 2000 as a small, youth-organized charity concert and has grown into a major community event, raising over $76,000 for local children's charities. Our all-volunteer orchestra includes around 120 musicians of all ages and ability levels from throughout the Miami Valley, performing for an audience of several hundred.
Giving Strings has been named one of the top ten volunteer projects in Ohio and recognized nationally through the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards.
In exchange for your donation of items or services, we offer recognition based on contribution level: a $100 donation or item/service donation earns a hand-drawn poster and mention in our program, speeches, and press releases. A $250 donation adds your name in small text on the t-shirts worn by 100+ musicians and the conductor. A $500 donation moves your name to larger text near the middle of the shirt. A $1,000 donation places your name in the largest text at the top, giving your business sustained visibility throughout the night and beyond.
Thank you for considering a contribution to Giving Strings.
